JP Baldacchino & Co Ltd’s origins hark back to the late 1950s, when Anthony Baldacchino set out to make a name for himself. The business was registered as a limited liability company in 1974, and has now served as one of the leading suppliers in the national construction industry for almost 50 years, covering steel and allied products, marine supplies and industrial glass, while also representing multinationals like Arcelor Mittal.
With these successes, Anthony looked to further growth of the business, centering company expansion on the cornerstones of alert business acumen, hard work, prompt delivery and a reputation for fair dealing. In 1980, the business moved to an ad hoc complex in Għaxaq, comprising three spacious warehouses and offices. This coupled with other developments saw the growth of the wholesale division to cover the entirety of Malta and Gozo, and JP Baldacchino took on the role as representative for overseas suppliers as a core tenant of the business.
Continued expansion meant the need for a more dynamic arrangement optimising both footprint space and human resources, which led to the three-year construction of Ferrum House situated on the outskirts of Gudja. Covering over five-thousand square metres, the company formally moved its operations there in September 2005.
2006 saw the incorporation of ASB Holdings Ltd, a sister company to JP Baldacchino & Co Ltd, with its main activity being the holding of properties for both capital appreciation and renting purposes.
Today, JP Baldacchino is managed by Dennis Baldacchino and Adrian Baldacchino, two of Anthony’s sons, and while the Company employs over twenty persons, it still maintains its family-business model, cherishing employer-employee relationships and client satisfaction as its top priorities.
